The highly-awaited new generation Maruti Swift was launched in India earlier this year, with prices starting at Rs. 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The arrival of the refreshed model, along with some reason to cheer, brought along anticipation for the new Dzire too.
We have now learned that Maruti will unveil the fourth-generation Dzire in India on 11 November. This iteration will breathe a new lease of life in the sub-four-metre sedan segment which currently comprises of the Tigor, Amaze, and the Aura.
The 2024 Dzire will boast a completely new design even as it carries over a familiar silhouette. New elements include front and rear bumpers, grille with horizontal slats, LED headlamps, circular fog lights, dual-tone alloy wheels, and fresh taillights with triangular LED inserts.
To keep the Dzire one step ahead of the competition, Maruti will introduce an electric sunroof, a first-of-its-kind feature in the segment. Elsewhere, it will get a large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, cruise control, blind spot monitor, and rectangular AC vents.
The new Dzire will also borrow the Swift’s new petrol engine. This will be the 1.2-litre Z Series motor producing 80bhp and 112Nm, paired with five-speed manual and AMT units. A CNG version is also in the works, but the launch timeline remains unknown at the moment.
