Ex-Tata Motors Sujan Roy Joins Ashok Leyland As Head SAARC Region

Prior to Ashok Leyland, Sujan has worked for over ten years with Tata Motors, where he started from General Manager - Marketing & Product, Passenger Vehicles - International.

Sunaj Roy, who was earlier heading International Business, Passenger Vehicles and marketing of electric vehicles in the domestic market, has joined Ashok Leyland as Head of SAARC Region.

Confirming the news to Mobility Outlook, Sujan Roy said, “I am pretty excited to join Ashok Leyland as Head of SAARC region. I have been handling international business for passenger vehicles for the South-East Asian Market. It is just that I am moving from passenger vehicles to commercial vehicles as a category. For commercial vehicle there is always a bigger demand is always higher, while passenger vehicle depends a lot on the economy”

He also said, “We as a company are looking to expand aggressively, and the immediate neighbourhood is an area of high potential and focus.”

Prior to Ashok Leyland, Sujan has worked for over ten years with Tata Motors, where he started from General Manager - Marketing & Product, Passenger Vehicles - International. 

He has also worked with Volkswagen India, where he was responsible for Product life-cycle management, new product development, pricing & launch. 

With over 28 years of experience, Roy has worked with companies like Mercedes Benz, Mahindra & Mahindra and Honda Cars India. 

He graduated from the University of Mumbai in Physics and holds a master’s degree in the same domain.
