Eve Urban Air Mobility Solutions (Eve) will accelerate development of the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) ecosystem in Asia-Pacific markets in partnership with Singapore based Air Mobility start-up Ascent.
Both firms announced their partnership on June 13, and Ascent will facilitate the Asian market entry of Embraer backed Eve’s electric Vertical Takeoff And Landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
Eve and Ascent will look to progressively grow air taxi, cargo and air medical services operations throughout the region using eVTOLs.
Ascent’s technology platform will allow users to book charter flights as well as seats for flights on Eve’s eVTOLs, while Eve’s Urban Air Traffic Management (UATM) services will provide secure and scalable UAM operations, when fully integrated into Ascent technology.
Andre Stein, President & CEO, Eve UrbanAir Mobility said this partnership with Ascent aligns with its strategy to develop the UAM ecosystem through collaborative efforts and to be a truly global player.
“Armed with Ascent’s data and platform, we will be well positioned to enter into the Asia Pacific market. On our end, we are committed to supporting Ascent’s growth and its ambition to democratise air mobility,” he said.
Both firms will now work to establish a proof of concept to demonstrate the extent of Ascent’s platform and market penetration.
“Joining forces with Eve, and by extension counting with the active support from the Embraer Group, will enable us to accelerate our development for a larger impact, secure the entry of market-fit all-electric aircraft,” said Lionel Sinai-Sinelnikoff, Founder & CEO, Ascent.
As Asia’s first technology-powered UAM service, Ascent has been working to move people seamlessly and affordably by using helicopters now, with eVTOLs planned for the future. Ascent already handles a database of dedicated air operator partners throughout Thailand and the Philippines for UAM operations and plans to further increase its coverage in the region.
