As a part of the “zero tailpipe emission mobility” outreach and awareness campaign, Sushil Reddy, IIT Bombay Alumnus, Guinness World Record holder and Founder of The SunPedal Ride, will carry out a 6,000 km journey on an MG ZS EV along the Golden Quadrilateral route of India. Along with Messe Frankfurt India, the campaign is supported by MG Motor, Fortum Charge and Drive India.
Claimed be India’s first-ever cross-country journey on an electric car, the initiative aims to make Indian citizens aware of the benefits of clean mobility, noted Raj Manek, Executive Director and Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings.
“Reducing India’s dependence on fossil fuels will not only help in alleviating air pollution and combating climate change but also save the Indian economy billions in oil imports. Green vehicles are the future of automotive transportation,' he said.
Kick-starting the journey on the opening day of the E-Mobility India Forum on September 29, 2022, Reddy will address the campaign's objectives before its flag off at 1.30 pm at Le Meridien. Key industry leaders from the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU), Jio BP, Tata Power, Hero Electric, BMW India, Ashok Leyland, ZF India, Bosch, Switch Mobility and several other dignitaries will be present.
During the journey, Reddy will circuit major cities, including Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai and finish in Delhi on December 10, 2022.
Slated to be held on 29 and 30 September 2022, the second annual E-Mobility India Forum at Le Meridien, New Delhi will bring brand leaders to address challenges faced by the EV industry in India and discuss key industry topics.
