Hyderabad-based electric mobility solutions provider, ETO Motors has collaborated with BSES and Tata Power DDL to set up around 2,000-3,000 EV charging stations in Delhi over the next two to three years.

These chargers will be installed at semi-public sites like malls, offices and colleges, in addition to privately-owned spaces like residential and apartment complexes.

ETO Motors, which has set up over 30 MWs of EV charging infrastructure across the country, envisages setting up over 10,000 EV charging stations in the region over the next five years.

The company was appointed and empanelled by Delhi’s DISCOMs – BSES Rajdhani, BSES Yamuna and Tata Power DDL – for the installation of subsidised EV charging stations for a period of three years through a tender floated by BSES Rajdhani on behalf of the three DISCOMs in July 2021.

NK Rawal, Managing Director & CEO, ETO Motors said the company is delighted to contribute towards Delhi’s move towards electric mobility. ETO Motors is an EV manufacturer, fleet operator and a charging infrastructure provider, currently operational in Hyderabad, Delhi, Bangalore, Noida, Nagpur, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam serving both the passenger and cargo last mile needs.

The Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy was announced on August 7, 2020 with a vision to promote adoption of EVs in the city and to make Delhi the EV capital of India. The Delhi government’s decision to set up a single window facility for the smooth rollout of EV chargers will enable the consumers to compare costs and features of different chargers on the DISCOM websites, order a charger and schedule it’s installation through a single call or an online order.

As an incentive, the Delhi government would also provide a subsidy of up to INR 6,000 per charging point, for the first 30,000 charging stations, said an ETO Motors release.
