The Uttarakhand Government has taken a step towards fostering sustainable and eco-friendly transportation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) worth INR 1900 Crore with Erisha E Mobility Private Limited. The MOU, formalised on 8 December 2023, outlines a collaborative effort to establish an Electric Vehicle (EV) Park and deploy 100 state-of-the-art EV charging hubs across Uttarakhand.

The MOU signing ceremony, graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Dr. Darshan Rana, Chairman and Managing Director of Erisha E Mobility Private Limited, signals a robust commitment to advancing electric mobility in the region.

Dr. Rana stated that the company’ expertise in electric mobility solutions, combined with the government's commitment to sustainability, will undoubtedly create a positive impact on the environment and drive economic growth.'

The proposed Electric Vehicle (EV) Park, spanning 320 acres with an investment of INR 1500 crore aims to become a hub for innovation, research, and development in electric mobility, fostering collaboration among Electric Vehicles manufacturers, ancillary units, technology providers, and researchers. The project is expected to generate employment for 5000 individuals (Direct+Indirect).

In addition to the EV Park, the project aims to establish a robust charging infrastructure by deploying 100 Electric Vehicle charging hubs across the state, with a proposed investment of INR 400 crore. This strategic network of charging facilities will facilitate convenient access to charging, promoting the widespread adoption of electric vehicles and reducing the carbon footprint of transportation in Uttarakhand. The total investment of INR 1900 crore will be spread over a period of 10 years.
