EKA Mobility has secured two significant contracts from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) valued at approximately INR 150 crore. The agreements cover the supply and maintenance of 70 electric buses, marking a substantial step in India’s shift towards sustainable public transportation. These buses are designed to improve UPSRTC’s fleet with electric vehicles (EV) ensuring reduced emissions, operational efficiency and enhanced passenger comfort.
The EKA 12 and EKA 9 buses feature electric drivetrains and battery systems tailored for Indian conditions. With a focus on reliability and performance, both models include regenerative braking systems, advanced thermal management, and optimised power delivery to maximise range. The buses are expected to deliver a range of up to 200 km on a single charge, depending on driving conditions and operational usage, aligning with the daily needs of public transport operators.
To ensure seamless operations EKA Mobility will also provide the necessary charging infrastructure alongside the buses. This includes fast-charging solutions designed to minimise downtime and support high-frequency fleet operations. Furthermore, the contracts include a long-term Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) for 10 years, ensuring the vehicles remain in peak operational condition throughout their lifecycle.
