Eicher Trucks & Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), successfully hosted the second Woman Transporters Delegation at its cutting-edge Industry 4.0 Bhopal plant. Held in collaboration with veteran industry leader Girish Mirchandani, the two-day event celebrated women’s growing leadership in the commercial vehicle (CV) ecosystem.
Anchored in Eicher’s philosophy of ‘Nayi Soch, Naye Raaste’, the initiative created a platform for women leaders from across the transport sector to explore, engage, and exchange ideas around the future of mobility. As the CV industry embraces digitisation, alternative fuels, and smart logistics, the delegation delved into critical conversations around emerging trends, industry challenges, and the evolving role of women in this transformation.
The delegation began with an exclusive plant tour, including a visit to the all-women assembly line for the Eicher Pro X series, showcasing advanced robotised cab assembly and next-gen paint shop technologies. The visit underlined Eicher’s push to integrate diversity at the very heart of its manufacturing operations.
Participants interacted with Eicher’s executive leadership, including Vinod Aggarwal (MD & CEO, VECV), and senior women leaders, discussing industry shifts, innovation pathways, and inclusive strategies. They also had hands-on experience driving Eicher’s latest products, including the Eicher Pro X EV and Eicher Pro 2055 EV, reflecting the brand’s foray into electric mobility.
Knowledge sessions and panel discussions offered deep dives into critical areas such as AI, digitisation, alternative fuels, and the need for a driver- and mechanic-first approach. These sessions provided insights into how the sector can marry technological advancement with inclusive growth.
Aggarwal emphasised the broader vision, saying, “Inclusivity and diversity are vital to business success. At Eicher, we are combining advanced technology with a progressive workforce. Our all-women assembly line in Bhopal is just one of the steps toward building a more diverse, future-ready organisation.”
Bhagwan K Bindiganavile, EVP – Strategic Planning, Brand & Communications at VECV, added, “This delegation echoes the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Seven Cs’ for mobility — Common, Connected, Convenient, Congestion-free, Charged, Clean, and Cutting-edge. Eicher’s people-first innovation approach is aligned with this, and we’re proud to drive that narrative forward through this initiative.”
The successful second edition of the Woman Transporters Delegation reinforces Eicher Trucks & Buses’ leadership in fostering gender diversity, technology adoption, and inclusive growth within India’s commercial vehicle landscape — laying the foundation for a more equitable and efficient mobility future.
