Ducati Unveils Redesigned New Panigale V2 At EICMA 2024

Ducati introduced the latest iteration of the Panigale V2 with fresh design, improved performance features and a notable reduction in weight at EICMA 2024 motorcycle show in Milan. This new Panigale V2 arrives in two variants—the Standard and the S—both aimed at elevating Ducati’s position in the supersport motorcycle segment with the hallmark elements that define the brand.

The Panigale V2's styling is heavily inspired by the Ducati Panigale V4 yet retaining its distinct character. Ducati has enhanced the bike’s fairing with sharper lines and creases, introducing ducts that improve passive cooling, helping riders better handle engine heat during slower, city-paced riding. The front of the bike features twin LED headlights, which are narrower and more aggressive than its predecessor’s. The tail section carries a reminiscent of the Panigale 1199 R particularly in the design of the LED tail lights.

Powering the Panigale V2 is a new 890cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine, delivering 120 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 93.3 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm. While this power output is slightly lower than the outgoing model, the new Panigale V2 is significantly lighter, with the S variant shedding 17 kilogrammes. Ducati claims the lighter weight, coupled with refined aerodynamics, keeps the Panigale V2’s lap times in line with its predecessor, maintaining its track competitiveness.

Adding to the distinctiveness of the model are twin underseat exhaust pipes which promise a unique exhaust note. As expected the Panigale V2 is equipped with a suite of electronic aids, including multiple riding modes, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and a bi-directional quick-shifter. Riders can monitor these features on a new TFT display with three display modes—Road, Road Pro, and Race.

The bike’s underpinnings are based on an aluminium monocoque frame, designed to maximise rigidity while keeping weight low. The Standard variant is fitted with a 43mm Marzocchi USD fork and a Kayaba monoshock, both fully adjustable, while the S variant upgrades to Ohlins suspension, known for its high-performance responsiveness. Both models ride on 17-inch wheels with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, ensuring grip and handling that meets the demands of spirited riding.
