Ducati has announced the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition, a limited edition of 555 units, celebrating the success of the Superquadro twin-cylinder engine. This special edition pays homage to one of the most sophisticated engines ever produced by Ducati, marking the end of an era that began over thirty years ago. The Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition adorns an exclusive livery designed by Drudi Performance in collaboration with the Centro Stile Ducati. Each unit comes with a certificate of authenticity and a custom motorcycle cover. The motorcycle will be available later in October this year.
The Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition includes unique bits like a billet aluminium triple clamp with the model number, a dedicated rider seat, custom dashboard animation, and a special contact key. For those who take their bike to the track, the package includes kits for removing the license plate and mirrors, as well as a billet aluminium racing tank cap, all provided with the bike.
The Superquadro engine first made its debut in the 2011 1199 Panigale, known for its high ratio between bore and stroke, which enabled it to deliver unparalleled power for a twin-cylinder engine. Over the years, it has evolved into various displacements, with the 955 cc version winning the first Supersport world title for Ducati in 2023, and securing victories in the MotoAmerica Supersport titles in 2022 and 2023.
Its crankcases are crafted using Vacural casting, with aluminium pressed-in cylinder liners featuring NikaSil coating. The engine boasts a compact and rigid design, contributing to an innovative monocoque chassis. The desmodromic distribution includes 'super-finished' rocker arms with DLC treatment to reduce friction and enhance durability. The engine’s mixed chain/gear control sets new benchmarks for efficiency and reliability.
