Ducati Multistrada V2 Lightness mobility outlook

Ducati has unveiled the Multistrada V2 redesigned mid-size crossover motorcycle at the Intermot trade show in Cologne. The 2025 model combines advanced engineering, reduced weight, and enhanced ergonomics, setting a new standard for twin-cylinder enthusiasts. The standard model weighs just 199 kg without fuel, while the V2 S variant, equipped with semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS), weighs 202 kg. This significant weight reduction improves handling and manoeuvrability making the bike more accessible to riders of varying skill levels. The Multistrada V2 and V2 S will be available in 2025 in India, with colour options including Ducati Red and Storm Green for the V2 S.

The new 890 cc twin-cylinder V2 engine produces 113 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm, offering a blend of power and efficiency. The inclusion of variable valve timing ensures smooth performance across different riding conditions, delivering 70% of peak torque as early as 3,500 rpm. A reconfigured gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 enhances gear transitions for a seamless riding experience, particularly at low speeds or when fully loaded.

The Multistrada V2 features a redesigned chassis, including an aluminium frame and steel trellis subframe, which improves comfort and riding precision. The ergonomic updates include an adjustable seat height, ranging from 790 mm to 870 mm depending on configuration, and enhanced contact points for improved rider control. The DSS-equipped V2 S offers additional comfort with electronically adjustable suspension modes, ensuring a balanced and smooth ride on varied terrains.

Both versions feature a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and engine brake control. The bike offers five riding modes—Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro, and Wet—that adjust power output and electronic settings to suit different conditions. The V2 S includes a 5-inch full-TFT dashboard with customisable Infomodes and features such as Cruise Control and a Ducati Multimedia System.

The adjustable windshield and integrated deflectors improve airflow and thermal comfort, while redesigned panels ensure the bike’s characteristic sporty and aggressive aesthetic. The LED lighting system, inspired by Ducati’s Panigale models, adds a modern touch while enhancing visibility.

A range of optional accessories, including spoked wheels, aluminium side cases, and a Termignoni exhaust system, allows customisation for touring or off-road journeys. With Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres and Brembo brakes, the bike ensures reliability and performance on diverse terrains.
