Dr Arun Jaura has joined Hero MotoCorp, the world’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer, as its new Chief Technology Officer. As the CTO, Dr Jaura would be responsible for the company’s crown jewel, the Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur as well as the Hero Tech Center Germany in Munich.
Prior to this role, Dr Jaura was Managing Director, Michelin India Technical Centre based in Pune.
A veteran business leader, Dr Jaura possessed multi-zonal experience in smarts, B2C, EV, Hydrogen, AI, and digital solutions pertinent to ecosystems. He has worked across three different continents along with cultural exposures in the US, Canada, India and France. He has managed businesses for the Defense, Ford, Eaton, Mahindra, Traktion and Michelin and has held Board positions in addition to country & regional roles.
An M.Tech from IIT Madras in Applied Digital Techniques for Weapon Systems, Dr Jaura earned his PhD in Robots using dexterity & AI techniques for Smart assembly from the Concordia University in the US. He later earned executive education from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business as well as the Harvard Business School.
He continues to be an active member of the European Advisory Committee (Automotive) at SAE International.
As the CTO, he considers this move to Hero MotoCorp as a marvellous opportunity to animate this tipping point of new-age and current technologies through his teams at CIT in Jaipur and TCG in Munich. E-mobility, highly efficient ICE, flex fuels, and hydrogen technologies are being developed over the short to mid-term to co-exist for the benefit of our continuously growing customer base.
