DICV Inaugurates BharatBenz Regional Training Centre In Cuttack

Trainers from the BharatBenz Dealer Network and Industrial Training Institute instructors will be conducting a variety of training programmes at the Regional Training Centre.

The wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, on Monday launched a new BharatBenz Regional Training Centr (RTC) in Cuttack, Odisha.

A partnership between BharatBenz, Directorate of Technical Education and Training (DTET) and PPS Motors, the new RTC is situated on the premises of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Cuttack and will be conducting technical training programmes for the students of ITI, Cuttack, as well as BharatBenz dealer sales and technical service staff in the Eastern region, a press release from Daimler India Commercial Vehicle said.

Currently spread around 2,000 sqft, the centre will be expanded quickly to 6,000 sqft and is equipped with more than 500 equipment and tools, two vehicles and ten aggregates of trucks and buses for training programmes.

Trainers from the BharatBenz Dealer Network and ITI instructors will be conducting various training programmes at the RTC, the company noted.

The launch of the centre was graced Pritiranjan Gharai, Minister- Skill Development & Technical Education, Government of Odisha, Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, Odisha Skill Development Authority, Hemant Sharma IAS, Principal Secretary, Skill Development and Department of Technical Education and Reghu G, Director, Technical Education and Training.

Rajaram Krishnamurthy, Vice President BharatBenz Marketing & Sales and Customer Service, said that the launch of BharatBenz Regional Training Center in Cuttack is a part of BharatBenz Academy’s bigger plan to have one Regional Training Center each in North, South, East and West of India to train, reskill and upskill students, our drivers and personnel in sales and after-sales service. 

Two more Regional Training Centers for North and West are in the pipeline and will be operational by December 2022, he added. With BharatBenz Academy being operational for the last four years, the company has claimed to have trained about 28,000 technicians so far at its Chennai RTC.

With the new Regional Training Center in Cuttack, the company aims to train about 2000 technicians within a year, only in the East zone. “Our aim is to train at least 10,000 technicians every year across our Regional Training Centers,” Krishnamurthy added.
