The CII National Chairman noted that Government policies have played a strong and progressive role in the auto and auto component sectors' growth.
The component industry has churned out $34m in sales during H1FY23 while $10m has been the export figures in the same period, Kapur stated. He suggested that the industry continue building itself as a formidable and globally competitive base through a seven-stage approach.
For this, a closed-calibrated collaboration amongst all stakeholders is required. Moreover, these stakeholders should continue investing in the slew of disruptive innovations coming through.
OEMs should be at the forefront of the disruption and invest in technologies while also working on innovations and research and building world-class products.
Suppliers should build a deep and local world-class resilient, sustainable supply chain and work on cost-effective and cleaner technologies as the global environment and the geopolitical situation is uncertain.
As an association, it is important to encourage global suppliers to invest in India as a part of their global value chain and export out of India. While lastly, associations also attract young talents to the industry and vision the next phase of the automobile industry.
