Continental India Partners With Amrita mobility outlook

Continental’s Technical Centre India (TCI) has partnered with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and MathWorks to launch a new course titled Automotive Systems and Layered Architecture, designed to prepare students for the evolving automotive industry. This initiative focuses on Automotive Open Source Architecture (AUTOSAR), an industry-standard technology, and aims to equip students with practical skills and industry-relevant knowledge.

The collaboration marks a significant milestone in Continental’s efforts to reduce the divide between academic learning and industry demands. The course, which combines lectures, hands-on workshops, and real-world case studies, is part of a broader strategy by Continental to create a well-informed and skilled talent pool for the automotive sector.

Continental signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amrita University in 2022 to introduce academic and research initiatives. The launch of this course represents a key step in this partnership. Latha Chembrakalam, Head of TCI, emphasised the importance of the collaboration, stating, 'This partnership will create a talent pool that is well informed about state-of-the-art technologies and equipped to meet future challenges.' She added that the course reflects Continental’s commitment to fostering industry-ready talent by integrating its expertise with academic knowledge.

The course is designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of AUTOSAR, a critical component in modern automotive engineering. The course is expected to enhance students' skills in areas such as model-based design, simulation, and testing, thanks to tools provided by MathWorks and the guidance of industry professionals from Continental.

The partnership between Continental, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and MathWorks is part of a phased approach to developing industry-ready talent. The first phase involved designing a curriculum aligned with industry standards, while the second phase focuses on faculty development and expert sessions. The third phase will see the course delivered to students, with an emphasis on simulation technology and practical application.
