Known for its bold design, spacious interiors, and aerodynamic profile, the Citroën Basalt now stands out with exceptional safety features, solidifying its position as a top contender in the SUV segment.

As the first ICE SUV Coupé to receive such a high safety rating in India, it sets a new standard for safety in the country’s automotive industry, a statement from the company stated.

The Citroën Basalt’s success in achieving a high safety rating is a testament to the company’s commitment to prioritising safety in all its variants. The vehicle features a robust, intelligently engineered body structure designed to provide optimal protection in the event of a collision. This accomplishment further elevates the vehicle’s appeal in the competitive Indian market, where safety standards are becoming an increasing priority for consumers.

Shishir Mishra, Brand Director of Citroën India, said, 'This achievement underscores our unwavering dedication to ensuring safety remains at the core of our design philosophy. The Basalt’s safety credentials empower our customers to drive confidently and securely. The Basalt excelled in Bharat NCAP’s stringent crash tests, which evaluated its ability to withstand a range of impact scenarios. Additionally, the Basalt’s use of high-strength steel, Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) helps manage both front and side impacts, reducing cabin intrusion and protecting occupants.
