Citroen India has launched the eC3 starting at an introductory price of INR 11.5 lakh, ex-showroom, for the base live trim level.
Assembled in Tiruvallur near Chennai, the electric hatchback will be delivered to customers towards the end of this month.
Citroen will also extend its 100% direct online buying to this offering. Customers in major cities will be covered through this initiative and can order directly from the factory to get doorstep delivery.
The Citroen eC3 gets a 29.2kWh battery pack, powering the front axle-mounted electric motor that makes 57hp and 143Nm of torque and providing a range of 320 km. It also gets two driving modes – eco and standard – along with regenerative braking.
Additional features are the 'My Citroen Connect' and ‘C-Buddy’ hosting 35 smart features including driving behaviour analysis, vehicle tracking, emergency services call, auto crash notification etc.
Roland Bouchara, CEO and Managing Director, Stellantis India, said with the eC3, Citroen moves from being a newcomer in the ICE segment to a key player in EVs.
Saurabh Vatsa, Brand Head, Citroen India, added that the vehicle was developed keeping in mind the Indian audience and their unique needs and preferences.
The brand has also added fast DC charging infrastructure provided by Jio-bp to its La Maison Citroen phygital showrooms in 25 cities.
