CHARGE ZONE has announced a major expansion of its supercharging infrastructure aimed at electric buses, trucks, and personal mobility vehicles across the country. The company plans to invest $360 million over the next four years, significantly boosting its charging capacity and establishing a robust network of supercharging stations. The expansion of supercharging stations marks a substantial increase in charging capacity, achieving a 6:1 ratio compared to the previous fast charging models.
'Our new supercharging network is a pivotal step towards a sustainable and electrified future, integrated with micro-grids comprising Solar PV and energy storage,' stated Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO of CHARGE ZONE. 'We are committed to pushing the boundaries of EV supercharging technology to deliver innovative solutions across industries.'
The expansion routes were strategically chosen based on geographical location, traffic volume, land availability, and grid connectivity. Key routes include highways across Southern and Western India, such as Bangalore-Chennai, Bangalore-Hyderabad, Bangalore-Pune-Mumbai, and Mumbai-Ahmedabad.
CHARGE ZONE’s supercharging stations will utilise renewable energy sources, significantly influencing the adoption of electric buses, trucks, and personal mobility vehicles by enhancing range, reliability, efficiency, and cost savings. Integrated solar rooftops and battery storage will ensure a green power supply, transforming national highways into renewable corridors. The company plans to utilise signage, PlugShare, Google Maps, and the CHARGE ZONE app to ensure widespread awareness and utilisation.
Over the next six months, CHARGE ZONE is dedicated to expanding its reach by increasing the number of stations and deploying superchargers to enhance charging speed for all types of 4W EVs.
