Chinese automobile brand BYD (Build Your Dreams) is set to announce the prices of the Seal EV in India tomorrow. Unlike most brands that have introduced electric SUVs in the recent past, BYD will bring a sedan, and a fastback at that.
Set to become the third offering from BYD after the e6 and the Atto 3, the Seal will be available in three variants including Standard, Extended Range, and Performance. Further, there will be four colours on offer, namely Arctic Blue, Atlantis Grey, Aurora White, and Cosmos Black.
The new Seal EV is expected to arrive with a price tag of Rs. 55-60 lakh (ex-showroom). In this price bracket, the target customer expects a feature set like dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, fully digital instrument cluster, wireless phone connectivity, and a 360-degree camera, all of which are likely to arrive as standard with this model.
Globally, the BYD Seal is powered by two battery pack options – 61.4kWh and 82.5kWh. Paired with an electric motor, they are claimed to return a range of 460km and 570km respectively, on a single full charge.
