In a significant move, BYD, the global leader in new energy vehicles and power battery manufacturing, introduces the YANGWANG U9, the first pure electric supercar under its high-end sub-brand. Priced at 1.68 million RMB (approximately $233,411), the U9 boasts a ‘Time Gate’ design language, representing a unique aesthetic characterised by distinctive proportions, tension, and power.
Powered by two cutting-edge technologies, the e4 platform and the DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System, the vehicle aims to redefine the pure electric supercar segment. The e4 Platform, featuring four independent electric motors, delivers 1,300 horsepower and a maximum torque of 1,680Nm, ensuring a seamless blend of safety, performance, and user experience.
The proprietary DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System takes the driving experience to a new level. With a maximum adjustable suspension travel of up to 75mm and a peak single-axis lifting speed of 500mm/s, the U9 exhibits unparalleled agility and comfort, adapting effortlessly to various driving scenarios. Moreover, it introduces a unique feature allowing the U9 to dance to music with just a click.
Performance-wise, recent tests showcase the YANGWANG U9 reaching a top speed of 309.19 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a just 2.36 seconds, and covering 0-400m in 9.78 seconds. The vehicle's thermal management system has been fine-tuned to resist high temperatures, resulting in a 100% increase in maximum cooling capacity. The Blade Battery, along with Dual Plug-in Ultra-fast charging technology, further enhances the vehicle's charging capabilities.
The YANGWANG U9's Super Carbon-fibre Cabin, utilising next-generation CTB technology, ensures unprecedented torsional stiffness and comprehensive travel safety. Inside the cabin, the DiLink150 intelligent platform, powered by customised 4nm 5G chips, offers an intelligent racing assistance for track driving, providing detailed information on nearly 30 racetracks across China.
Equipped with two 14-way adjustable seats, a Dynaudio Evidence Series high-end audio system, and an immersive auditory experience, the YANGWANG U9 aims to provide drivers and passengers with an unparalleled driving experience.
