Atto 3 variant nomenclatures revised; a new colour has been introduced.

BYD India has enhanced the Atto 3 range by launching a new variant in the line-up, priced at Rs. 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Simultaneously, the carmaker has also revised the variant nomenclature for what is now the brand’s most affordable offering in the country and now offers a new colour too.

The new entry-level variant of the BYD Atto 3, called Dynamic, is powered by a 49.92kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor powering the front wheels. This variant has an ARAI-certified range of 468km on a single full charge compared to the other variants that have a range of 521km.

These other variants of the Atto 3, called Premium and Superior, are powered by a 60.48kWh battery pack with a single electric motor. The power output of all the variants stands at 201bhp and 310Nm. In the paint department, the electric SUV gains a new Cosmos Black colour apart from three other colours, namely Boulder Grey, Ski White, and Surf Blue.

Compared to the higher variants, the base Dynamic variant of the BYD Atto 3 misses out on features like a one-touch open/close tailgate, ADAS suite, 18-inch wheels, adaptive front lights, multi-colour ambient lighting, and a Dirac-sourced eight-speaker music system.

Notably, the new Atto 3 variant, with a price tag of Rs. 24.99 lakh, now sits much closer to the top-spec MG ZS EV, called the Essence variant, which is priced at Rs. 24.98 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). That said, the latter offers a host of additional features compared to the new Atto 3 variant, the most significant one being an ADAS suite.
