BYD India, a subsidiary of the global leader in New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), BYD, has officially launched the highly anticipated BYD SEALION 7 Pure Performance eSUV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The fully electric SUV, which boasts cutting-edge technology and eco-friendly design, has commenced bookings nationwide with special promotional offers valid until February 17, 2025. This launch marks a milestone for BYD as the SEALION 7 becomes the fifth all-new product introduced by the company within just three years.
As part of the promotional booking offer, the BYD SEALION 7 can be secured with an initial payment of ₹70,000, with BYD India matching the booking amount. In addition, customers will receive a complimentary 7 kW home charger with free installation, along with enhanced warranty coverage for the Low Voltage Battery.
The BYD SEALION 7 will be available in both all-wheel-drive (AWD) and rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configurations, offered in Performance and Premium variants. Its striking combination of powerful performance, elegant design, and sustainable technology positions it as one of the most advanced electric vehicles in India.
Performance and Range: A New Era of Electric Driving
The BYD SEALION 7 combines Ocean-inspired aesthetics with state-of-the-art performance. With Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC) and Cell to Body (CTB) technology, the SEALION 7 is designed to offer superior handling, enhanced safety, and extended range. The eSUV comes equipped with an 82.56 kWh Blade Battery and can reach speeds of 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds in the Performance trim, and 6.7 seconds in the Premium variant. The Performance version delivers 390 kW of power and 690 Nm of torque, while the Premium variant offers 230 kW of power and 380 Nm of torque.
With a range of 542 km for the Performance trim and 567 km for the Premium, both models offer an industry-leading range (according to the NEDC test cycle). These impressive numbers reflect BYD’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of electric mobility.
Design and Features: Luxury Meets Innovation
Designed by BYD's Global Design Director, Wolfgang Egger, the SEALION 7 is a testament to luxurious, modern styling. The eSUV features sleek, flowing lines and an aerodynamic profile, along with the unique ‘OCEAN X’ front styling. Inside, the cabin is a sanctuary of comfort and innovation, boasting a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, premium quilted Nappa leather seats, and 128-colour ambient lighting. Additional features such as a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade and a heads-up display provide a futuristic and comfortable driving experience.
For an immersive driving experience, the BYD SEALION 7 is equipped with 12 Dynaudio speakers, a 50W wireless phone charger, and ventilated and heated seats. Moreover, the eSUV features VTOL (Vehicle to Load) technology, allowing it to power electronic devices, making it ideal for outdoor adventures or emergency situations.
Expanding Reach and Sustainability Commitment
BYD India’s commitment to sustainable mobility is evident through its extensive product lineup and future expansion plans. As part of the launch event, BYD also showcased the BYD SEALION 6, a Super Plug-in Hybrid EV featuring BYD's DM-i technology. This hybrid SUV is a blend of electric and petrol propulsion, offering remarkable fuel efficiency and eco-friendly operation, further reinforcing BYD’s commitment to a cleaner future.
Additionally, BYD introduced the Yangwang U8, a luxury electric SUV that can steer in water for up to 30 minutes and perform an all-terrain tank turn, showcasing BYD’s cutting-edge engineering and amphibious capabilities.
Looking ahead, BYD India plans to expand its dealership network to 40 locations by January 2025, furthering its goal of making sustainable mobility more accessible to Indian consumers.

The BYD SEALION 7 is available for bookings starting 18 January 2025, with the official price to be revealed on 17 February 2025. Customers who take advantage of the Promotional Booking Offer will also receive a 7-year/150,000 km warranty on the Low Voltage Battery, along with early delivery for the first 70 bookings.
