Targeting B2B segment customers in India, Warren Buffett-backed EV maker BYD on Monday announced the launch of its all-new e6. Initially, the vehicle will be available in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Chennai at an Ex-showroom price of INR 29.6 lakh, inclusive of a 7kW charger and INR 29.15 lakh without the charger. In a press statement, the company said it is currently augmenting the dealer network across these locations.
Powered by a 71.7 kWh Blade Battery, the vehicle gives a range of 415km with just a single charge. The 70kWh electric motor offers a torque of 180 Nm and a top speed of 130km/h.
The e6 has been built to support both AC and DC fast charging with a focus on safety and efficiency. The DC fast charging technology can charge the vehicle from 30% to 80% within 35 minutes.
The vehicle is equipped with a MacPherson strut front suspension and a rear multilink suspension chassis. It is also equipped with Bosch’s IPB intelligent brake control system with fast response and a smooth linear braking feel. In addition, it is capable of regenerating energy from as low as 2km/h.
Built on the BYD e-platform, the e6 integrates the electric powertrain components to reduce weight, optimise efficiency, and improve the driving experience. With driver’s side and front passenger seat airbags, the vehicle also features a seat belt reminder for all. The new model also comes with a speed sensing automatic locking and a rearview camera with a distance scale line, the company said.
In addition, the vehicle comes with LED daytime running lights, LED rear combination lamps, leather seats, 6-way adjustable driver and front passenger seats, 10.1-inch rotatable touch screen that allows Bluetooth and Wifi connectivity for a seamless connection, CN95 Air filtration system with a medical-grade face mask level of air purification and 580-litre of boot space.
The vehicle also comes with a 3-years/125,000 kms warranty, a battery cell warranty of 8-years/500,000 kms, and a traction motor warranty of 8 Years/150,000 kms.
