BYD India has launched the all-electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the BYD eMAX 7. Available in both 6- and 7-seater configurations, the eMAX 7 is set to focus on family mobility with its versatile design. It follows the footsteps of the previous generation E6, albeit it focusses on the private family market as opposed to the fleet and business outlook of the E6.
The vehicle is priced starting at INR 26.9 lakh (all prices ex-showroom), with production variants offering two variants: the Superior and the Premium. The Superior variant is equipped with a 71.8 kWh battery pack, delivering a New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) tested range of 530 km, while the Premium variant, with a smaller 55.4 kWh battery, offers a range of 420 km. These variants provide customers with a broad choice depending on their range requirements and seating preferences.

With cutting-edge technology, this vehicle provides a revolutionary way for families to experience long-distance travel.”
The eMAX 7 boasts advanced features, including BYD’s signature Blade Battery and an 8-in-1 electric powertrain, both designed to improve safety and energy efficiency. The Blade Battery’s innovative cell arrangement enhances heat transfer and reduces risks in the event of a collision, while the 8-in-1 powertrain integrates critical components to optimise space and performance. Additionally, the vehicle features regenerative braking and Vehicle-to-Load (VTOL) technology, allowing it to power external electrical devices, making it ideal for outdoor trips.
The eMAX 7 features a sleek aerodynamic body with BYD’s distinctive 'dragon-face' (no pun intended) front and powerful LED headlights. Inside, the spacious cabin offers comforts such as ventilated front seats, a gigantic panoramic sunroof, and a 12.8-inch rotating infotainment system compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle also includes an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), six airbags, and various safety features as standard.
