BYD India has delivered a batch of 200 Atto 3 electric passenger vehicles through a series of events on September 17, 2023, across six Indian cities – Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi.
Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said that the milestone reflected BYD’s 16 years of dedication in India and underlines the vehicle maker's commitment to further accelerate a cleaner and greener country for tomorrow.
Based on the company’s e3 EV platform, the Atto 3 features a 60.48kWh Blade battery and a 150kW 310Nm PMSM motor. The company claimed that the vehicle comes with an ARAI-certified range of 521 kms.
The platform features an 8-in-1 electric powertrain with a drive motor, motor controller, reducer, onboard charger, DC converter, high voltage distributor box, vehicle controller, and Battery Management System integrated into one unit.
The company claims this has allowed for a 20% size reduction and 15% weight reduction with an overall efficiency of more than 89%.
