BYD India has announced that it has completed 16 years of operations in the country.
Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicles, BYD India, said, “We are happy to celebrate this milestone in India. As of February, we have delivered over 700 units of BYD ATTO 3s to various cities in India in just two months and have received very positive response from customers.”
BYD India has also introduced EVs to fields such as material handling equipment, public sector transport, and heavy-duty trucks, among others.
A press release from BYD India noted that the operating volume of buses equipped with the company’s powertrains and batteries has exceeded over 1,000 units, and orders of electric heavy-duty trucks Q1R have surpassed 600 units having a leading position in this niche segment.
Currently, the company has over 2,000 employees in Chennai, and it has showrooms across 21 cities with 24 outlets pan India.
The company aims to expand to 53 outlets by the end of 2023. It will continue the endeavour to leverage technological innovations for a better life, providing Indian customers with diversified EV products and implementing its “Cool the Earth by 1°C” initiative.
