Warren Buffett-backed EV maker BYD on Monday celebrated 15 years of business operations in India. Since 2007, it has established two factories, with a cumulative investment of $150 million in the Indian market, the company said.

BYD and BYD India will continue to increase production capacity to meet market demand and use innovative technologies to create more traction in the future, a press release from the EV maker noted.

Recently the company launched its first eMPV, the e6, in India. It comes equipped with a 71.7 kWh blade battery with up to 520km range after a single charge, making it the only Indian eMPV with long-range.

Ketsu Zhang, Executive Director, BYD India, said, “India has become a strategic hub for us to service the South Asian market. We are looking forward to bringing other good practices and innovations to India and having a fruitful partnership for many decades to come.”
