Bugatti's Sur Mesure team has unveiled a special edition Chiron Super Sport that captures the spirit of the visionary designer and engineer Jean Bugatti’s legendary Type 55. He created the Type 55 Super Sport with a 2.3-litre straight-eight engine in a distinctive two-seater roadster body and its iconic duotone paint scheme.
This legacy inspired a Chiron Super Sport customer to commission the '55 1 of 1' edition. Jascha Straub who is the Manager of Sur Mesure and Individualisation at Bugatti worked closely with the customer to incorporate the Type 55’s design elements into the Chiron Super Sport.
The '55 1 of 1' Chiron Super Sport features a black and yellow duotone paint scheme same as the Type 55. The car’s black centreline and yellow accents are carefully applied to mirror the aesthetics of Jean’s design. The grille and rear wing also feature unique design elements that pay homage to the original model.
Inside the '55 1 of 1' continues the tribute with black leather and yellow stitching. The headrests are embroidered with '55 1 of 1' and Jean Bugatti’s signature is displayed on the door sill and dedication plate, creating a deep connection between the driver and Bugatti’s heritage.
