The highly awaited BSA Gold Star is all set to be launched in India on 15 August. The Classic Legends owned brand, that also sells the Jawa and Yezdi brand of motorcycles in India, is resurrecting the British marque in the country after decades.
The BSA Gold Star has been on sale in International markets for some time now and has been spotted testing a number of times in India.
The design of the bike is heavily inspired by the original, evident from the design of the fuel tank, curved fenders, and the side panel. The generous amount of chrome all around adds to the retro theme of the bike.
The Gold Star is powered by a 652cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 45bhp and 55Nm. This engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox.
It has a cradle frame with a telescopic fork up front and twin springs at the rear. The bike rides on wire-spoke wheels. Meanwhile, braking duties are taken care of by a single disc at both ends and ABS are fitted as standard.
The BSA Gold Star will go up against the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. We expect the price of the bike to be around Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 3.3 lakh, ex-showroom.
