Bry-Air is marking its 60th anniversary by unveiling new cutting-edge innovations aimed at combating climate change and promoting sustainability. The company has long been at the forefront of energy-efficient solutions, and its latest advancements focus on critical industries, including automotive lithium cell manufacturing and green hydrogen production.

As electric vehicles (EVs) gain momentum worldwide, the demand for high-performance lithium-ion batteries continues to rise. Bry-Air has developed Low Dew Point Dehumidifiers, a crucial technology for maintaining the dry room conditions required for lithium cell production. These advanced dehumidification systems ensure optimal manufacturing conditions by reducing humidity levels to as low as -80°C dew point, preventing moisture contamination and enhancing battery efficiency and longevity.

Additionally, Bry-Air is making significant strides in Carbon Capture and Air-to-Water Generation for Green Hydrogen. The company is pioneering technologies that extract water directly from the air, enabling sustainable hydrogen production—a key fuel alternative for the future of clean transportation. Hydrogen-powered vehicles, particularly in the commercial and heavy-duty transport sectors, are expected to play a vital role in reducing emissions, and Bry-Air’s innovative air-to-water solutions are poised to support this transition.

The company’s continuous focus on research and development is evident in its seven patent filings in October 2024 alone, covering advancements in material science, adsorption technologies, and energy-efficient processes. One such breakthrough is its ability to lower the rotor regeneration temperature to just 80°C, significantly reducing the energy consumption of dehumidifiers and improving operational cost-efficiency.

Deepak Pahwa, Chairman of the Pahwa Group and Managing Director of Bry-Air, stated “With 84 patents to date, we remain committed to driving innovation in critical industries such as lithium cell manufacturing and hydrogen production. Our solutions aim to reduce carbon footprints while enhancing industrial productivity, and we will continue pushing the boundaries of adsorption-based technologies.”

Bry-Air’s impact extends beyond automotive applications, as its adsorption technologies are widely used in food processing, pharmaceuticals, and data centres, where precise humidity control is essential. However, its recent focus on lithium battery manufacturing and green hydrogen infrastructure underscores its role in shaping the future of clean mobility.
