At the IAA Transportation 2024, Bosch will showcase its latest advancements in hall 19/20, booth A51/B52.

Efficient, Reliable Powertrains

Electric Powertrain: The company provides economical and efficient electrification solutions for light and heavy commercial vehicles. The Bosch e-axle, suitable for vehicles up to 7.5 metric tonne, ensures that fleet operators can serve urban low-emission zones. Featuring in heavy-duty, purely battery-electric vehicles, Bosch’s electric motor and inverter offer an 800-volt operating voltage and silicon carbide chips for longer ranges and shorter charging cycles.

Fuel Cell Technology: Bosch’s 200-kilowatt fuel-cell system, already in large-scale production, offers a climate-neutral option for long-haul and heavy-payload commercial vehicles. Bosch is developing the Fuel Cell Power Module Compact 300, which boasts increased output and compact design, providing versatile solutions from individual components to complete systems.

Hydrogen Engine: Recognized by the EU as climate-neutral from 2024, Bosch’s hydrogen engine is derived from existing diesel and natural-gas engines, utilising over 90% of current technologies. Key components like the new direct injection system, set for 2026, will enhance climate-friendly goods transportation.

H2 Tank System: ITK Engineering GmbH collaborates with vehicle manufacturers to design safe, high-pressure hydrogen storage systems using digital twins for maximum safety and efficiency.

Connectivity Solutions

Automotive Connectivity Hub: This retrofittable solution accesses vehicle operating and diagnostic data, enabling services like speed adjustment to reduce consumption and vehicle health monitoring to predict issues and suggest maintenance, reducing unexpected breakdowns.

Battery in the Cloud: For electric vehicles, this service enhances battery performance and lifespan by analyzing usage data and predicting aging and defects.

Digital Fuel Twin: This tool verifies the use of alternative fuels like HVO, certifying CO2 reductions.

RideCare Insight: An intelligent sensor box that detects bodywork damage, in-vehicle smoking, and risky driving behaviours in real-time.

Steering Systems For The Future

Fully Electric Power Steering (ServoE): Bosch's electromechanical steering system for heavy trucks offers simple, oil-free assembly and eco-friendly power-on-demand.

Servotwin: This electrohydraulic system supports advanced driver assistance functions up to SAE Level 4, combining hydraulic and electrical steering.

Rear-Axle Steering: This system reduces turning radius and tyre wear, adapting to all powertrain types with intelligent software for safe and eco-friendly driving.

Truck Cockpit Technologies: The company offers integrated solutions for instrumentation and infotainment, including digital mirrors and driver monitoring systems to detect fatigue and distractions.
