Automotive major Bosch Limited has appointed Dr Pawan Goenka, former MD & CEO, Mahindra & Mahindra as an independent director for a period of five years with effect from May 21, 2021 till May 20, 2026, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Dr Goenka had superannuated from the UV major with effect from April 2, 2021. He had served on the boards of several Mahindra Group companies, both domestic and international.
Earlier in his career, he had worked with General Motors R&D Centre in Detroit, USA from 1979 to 1993. Thereafter, he joined Mahindra & Mahindra as General Manager (R&D) and had led the development of the Scorpio SUV during this tenure.
At M&M, he was appointed COO (Automotive Sector) in April 2003, President (Automotive Sector) in September 2005, and President (Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors) in April 2010.
Other Top Level Appointments
In other top-level appointments, Bosch Limited has appointed Markus Bamberger as an Additional Director designated as a Chairman of the Board with effect from June 1, 2021. Bamberger will be replacing Dr Bernhard Straub, who will be assuming a new responsibility at the global level.
Markus Bamberger has been Head of Compliance Management at Robert Bosch GmbH since April 2019. Before joining Bosch, he worked for more than 20 years in various functions at the Merck Group.
Apart from Bamberger, the company has reappointed SV Ranganath as an Independent Director for the second term of three years with effect from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2024.
Bhaskar Bhat will take up as Lead Independent Director from May 21, 2021 to March 31, 2024. This appointment is being made in furtherance of the company's commitment to good corporate governance practices.
