Booking amount is Rs 25,000

Triumph India dealers across the country have started accepting official bookings for the much-awaited Daytona 660. The booking amount has been set to Rs 25,000.

The Daytona 660 is the third motorcycle built around the famous 660cc inline three-cylinder platform. The Trident and the Tiger Sport 660 were the first two bikes. Now with the introduction of the Daytona 660 – a brand that is highly known in India for its performance and styling, the British brand will be able to attract more sports bike customers.

The Daytona 660 is powered by the same 660cc inline three-cylinder engine which makes 95bhp at 11,250rpm and 69Nm at 8,250rpm. Moreover, Triumph says a majority of the torque is available from as low as 3,125 rpm. This should make the Daytona 660 convenient to ride in the city.

The hardware on this Triumph comprises a 41mm Showa SFF-BP USD fork and a Showa mono-shock with preload adjustment. Meanwhile, the brakes comprise twin 310mm discs at the front and a 220mm unit at the rear. These are mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Power 6 tyres. On the feature front, the new Daytona gets all-LED lights, a fully digital dash with Bluetooth connectivity and three ride modes - Rain, Road and Sport.

We expect Triumph to price the Daytona 660 around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In terms of rivals, there's only one - the Kawasaki Ninja 650, which is priced much lower.
