Boeing's Aircraft Orderbook Grew In 2022

The airframer reported a jump in orders for the 737 MAX family to 561 and 213 orders for its twin-aisle jetliners across 114 787s, 31 767s and 68 777s

Boeing is on the road to recovery and reported 774 commercial orders (after cancellations and conversions) in 2022, compared to 479 in 2021. The company delivered 480 commercial aircraft in 2022 compared to 340 in 2021.As of December 2022, Boeing had a backlog of 4,578 orders for its commercial jets.

Stan Deal, President and CEO, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said, 'We worked hard in 2022 to stabilise 737 production, resume 787 deliveries, launch the 777-8 Freighter and, most importantly, meet our customer commitments,' 'As the airline industry expands its recovery, we are seeing strong demand across our product family, particularly the highly efficient 737 MAX and the 787 Dreamliner. We will stay focused on driving stability within our operations and the supply chain as we work to deliver for our customers in 2023 and beyond.'Boeing delivered 69 commercial jetliners in December 2022, including 53 737 MAX single-aisle jets. Boeing 737 MAX customers in 2022 include ANA, Delta Air Lines, IAG, and low-cost carrier Arajet. The company delivered 387 737s, including 374 737 MAX and 13 military-derivative airplanes and 93 widebody jets, including five 747s, 33 767s, 24 777s and 31 787s. It also delivered 44 new production freighters, which are not included in the deliveries total. Boeing launched its 777-8 Freighter in 2022, which now has more than 50 orders (including conversions). Boeing's current Freighter line received 78 orders, including 45 orders for the 767-300 Freighter and the current 777 Freighter.
