The Bus and Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI) has unveiled its new National Committee for a three-year tenure. Prasanna Patwardhan has been re-elected as National President, alongside A Afzal as National Vice President, Dharmaraj D R as General Secretary, Harsh Kotak as Treasurer, and Babu Panikar as Additional Secretary. The leadership team outlined a comprehensive strategy to address key challenges and drive advancements in mobility solutions across the country.
Under Patwardhan’s continued leadership, BOCI is set to prioritise sustainable transport solutions, such as the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and the integration of Mobility as a Service (MaaS). BOCI’s focus will be on tackling industry challenges, including regulatory barriers, taxation complexities, and infrastructure inadequacies. The organisation seeks to create a sustainable roadmap that empowers transport operators and enhances the passenger experience.
With the rising importance of sustainability in public transport, BOCI is spearheading initiatives to foster EV adoption and establish a robust framework for integrating new technologies. By fostering global collaborations, BOCI aims to bring international best practices into India’s transport ecosystem. These partnerships are expected to enable Indian operators to adopt advanced practices and technologies thereby elevating operational standards and aligning the industry with global trends.
