BMW Motorrad India has launched the new R 12 cruiser at Rs 19.90 lakh, ex-showroom. The bike is inspired by the brand’s flagship cruiser, the R 18 and is offered in three colours – Black Storm Metallic, Avus Silver Metallic, and Aventurin Red Metallic.

The BMW R 12’s design brings a unique design for a cruiser to the table. From the large fuel tank to the curved fenders, twin barrel exhaust and the colours, the bike looks quite attractive.

Powering the BMW R 12 is a 1,170cc, air/oil-cooled boxer twin engine. It produces 95bhp at 6,500rpm and 110Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox.

As is expected from a bike in this class, there are a lot of electronic rider aids present as part of standard equipment. This includes ride modes, traction control, ABS and keyless ignition.

As for the hardware, it consists of a USD fork and preload adjustable monoshock. The bike rides on a 19-inch front and 16-inch rear wheel setup. Braking duties are taken care of by twin discs at the front and a disc at the back.

Bookings for the bike are now open across BMW dealerships.
