BMW Launches 220i ‘Black Shadow’ Edition In India For INR 43.5 Lakh

BMW Group India on Tuesday launched the new 2 Series Gran Coupé ‘Black Shadow’ edition in the M Sport design scheme at a special ex-showroom price of INR 43,50,000. 

Locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, the limited edition is available from today, the company said in a press release. 

What sets the ‘Black Shadow’ edition apart is the special individualisation content from its individual high-gloss shadow line package along with ‘M’ performance parts worth INR 3,25,000. The company said that the first 24 customers can avail of the special ‘Black Shadow’ edition kit at an exclusive price.

The new edition is available with the BMW 360˚ financial plan at an all-inclusive monthly payment of INR 50,999. It comes with assured buy-back up to four years and flexible term-end options. Exclusive interest rates will also be applicable for a limited period, the company said.

The customers can also avail Service Inclusive and Service Inclusive Plus, which further reduce the cost of ownership, and they can choose from a variety of service plans according to duration and mileage. The packages cover Condition Based Service (CBS) and maintenance work with plans ranging from three years / 40,000 kms to ten years / 200,000 kms. The Service Inclusive packages start from INR 47,318. Additionally, the packages can be extended during the run time by just paying a differential amount. The Repair Inclusive extends warranty benefits from the third year of operation to the maximum sixth year after completing the standard two-year warranty period.

The limited-edition is powered by a two-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering an output of 190 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm at 1,350-4,600 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 -100 km/hr in just 7.1 seconds. The seven-speed steptronic sport automatic transmissioncomes with shift paddles on the steering wheel. In addition, it comes with Launch Control, steering wheel paddle shifters, and cruise control with braking function for better driving pleasure. The Driving Experience Control switch offers different driving modes to suit individual driving styles - ECO PRO, Comfort and Sport. 

In terms of safety, the car comes with six airbags, attentiveness assistance, ABS with Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control including Dynamic Traction Control and Electronic Differential Lock Control, Cornering Brake Control, electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated spare wheel under the load floor. 

Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India, said the limited edition, designed with a clear focus on dynamics, is tailored to suit the requirements of motorsport enthusiasts. Further, the ‘M’ performance parts offer an athletic edge that enhances the sporty character in all aspects.
