The German automaker BMW India announced a price hike of up to 3.5% across its portfolio effective April 1, 2022.
The price revision comes as a result of increased material and logistics costs because of the current geopolitical situation and exchange rates, a release from the company stated.
The company currently produces the likes of the 2 Series Gran Coupe, 3 Series range, 5 Series, 6 Series Gran Turismo, 7 Series, X1, X3, X4, X5, X7 and MINI Countryman locally. While the 8 Series Gran Coupe, X6, Z4, M2 Competition, M5 Competition, M8 Coupe, X3 M, X5 M and the iX are sold as a CBU unit.
The company's wide range of activities in India, include a manufacturing plant in Chennai, a parts warehouse in Pune, a training centre in Gurugram NCR and the development of a dealer organisation across metropolitan centres of the country.
Currently, BMW Group India has over 80 touchpoints in the Indian market and employs 650 employees under the group.
