BMW Motorrad India has announced that it will launch the CE 04 electric scooter on 24 July. This is the first time that the company will introduce an electric scooter in the Indian market.
The CE 04 looks straight out of a sci-fi movie. Its large apron and flat body panels all around are what give it that futuristic look. The bench like seat is another design element that stands out and the overall design is such that it is guaranteed to grab a lot of eyeballs.
The EV has a permanent magnet, liquid-cooled synchronous electric motor that produces 41bhp and 61Nm. The battery capacity is 8.9kWh and it can cover 130km in a single charge. BMW claims a 0-50kmph time of 2.6s and a top speed of 120kmph.
In terms of features it has a 10.25-inch TFT display with connectivity and navigation. Safety aids include three ride modes- Eco, Rain and Road. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and ABS Pro are offered as optional extras.
The BMW CE 04 is expected to be priced around Rs 10 lakh-11 lakh, ex-showroom.
