The BMW CE 02 electric scooter is all set to go on sale in India this month. Word is that the scooter will go on sale by mid-September. This will be the second electric scooter from BMW to go on sale in India, following the launch of the CE 04.
The CE 02 is an urban electric scooter. That explains the design that prioritises function over form. The scooter seems to have been designed around a battery and electric motor.
Powering the scooter is an air-cooled synchronous motor. The scooter has a 2kWh battery and customers can choose to have a single or twin battery setup.
With a single battery, the scooter has a range of 45km and is capable of hitting a top speed of 45kmph. The range doubles with the addition of the second battery while top speed rises to 95kmph.
In terms of features, the scooter has a 3.5-inch micro TFT display with basic connectivity. It also gets USB-C charging, keyless ride and single-channel ABS.
BMW is expected to price the CE 02 from Rs 5 lakh onwards.
