Bangalore International Airport (BIA), the operator of Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru, has launched the 'BLR Pulse' app, offering real-time updates on various passenger processing touchpoints, including entry gates, check-in counters and security check areas. Created in collaboration with GrayMatter Software Services, the app will send flight updates directly to passengers’ mobile or email inboxes.
BIA claims the personalised digital travel app will elevate passengers' experience flying through Bengaluru airport. Hari Marar, MD & CEO, BIA, said, 'The objective is to help passengers plan their travel on the go even before they reach the airport. We value our passengers’ time and needs, and hence this app comes as a one-tap solution.'
Available for download from Apple or Google Play store, the new app would alleviate common pre-travel passenger apprehensions such as long security queues, wait times, etc. Passengers can use the app’s ‘WayFinder’ feature to easily find their way through the airport. Passengers can book transit hotels for their short-term stay or complete their last-minute flight check-ins using the app. The app also features an interactive chatbot feature.
Over the course of this year, several new features will be added to the app, allowing passengers to conveniently pre-order retail or duty-free products, reserve a cab, and easily book flights, rooms at the transit hotel, lounges, parking spots, etc.
Vikas Gupta, CEO, GrayMatter Software Services, said there was a growing trend of airports becoming digital marketplaces, offering a digital travel companion to showcase the vast array of services available and hyper-personalise user experience will undoubtedly benefit airports and passengers.
BLR Pulse utilises indoor positioning, passenger flow data, travel document management, IoT, and data insights to integrate systems and services seamlessly.
