Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has introduced a new range of heavy-duty rigid trucks under its BharatBenz brand aimed at meeting the evolving demands of the Indian transportation sector. The new trucks are powered by an all-new 6.7-litre BSVI Stage 2 diesel engine and are available in multiple configurations to suit a variety of applications, including bitumen, bulk transport, and Petroleum, Oil & Lubricants (POL).
The newly launched trucks offer customers two engine configurations, providing higher horsepower and torque options—250 HP with 950 Nm and 306 HP with 1200 Nm—allowing for flexibility based on specific operational needs. These trucks are designed for heavy-duty tasks and are available in various models, including the 2826R (6x2), 3526R (8x2), 3832R (8x2), 4232R (10x2), and 4832R (10x2) configurations.
One of the key features of the new BharatBenz rigid trucks is the advanced chassis design, crafted to support a wide range of payload applications. The new joggle frame chassis with riveted joints is engineered for durability and adaptability, making it suitable for industries requiring specialised transport solutions. The trucks also come with a Parabolic-type, grease-free suspension, enhancing their operational reliability.
In addition to the new engine and chassis, BharatBenz has focused on improving fuel efficiency with the introduction of the EFFI+ package. This package includes innovations such as ‘Minimal Parked Regeneration’, ‘Auto Green Band’, ‘Auto Idling Shutdown’, and ‘Harsh Acceleration Control’, all aimed at reducing fuel consumption during operations. The trucks also feature a Multi-drive mode, allowing drivers to adjust performance based on load conditions, further optimising fuel efficiency.
To ensure long-term reliability, DICV is offering a 10 lakh km Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) with the new trucks. This contract is designed to support operational uptime and reduce the total cost of ownership for customers.
The new BharatBenz rigid trucks are compliant with EU ECE R29-02 cabin safety norms. The trucks are equipped with aerodynamically designed AC cabins, advanced driver monitoring systems, and a more powerful engine brake system that improves braking efficiency by 28%. Additionally, reverse cameras are included to aid in safer manoeuvrability.
