It will be the first CNG-powered bike in India

Bajaj Auto is likely to launch a CNG-powered commuter motorcycle in June. The company says that the bike is likely to be launched on the 18th of next month and this will be the first production CNG-powered motorcycle in India.

Word is that the bike is likely to be badged as the Bajaj Bruzer. This will be a proper commuter motorcycle that’ll rival petrol-powered motorcycles in the 110-125cc segment. A few test mules that have been spotted in recent times have indicated that Bajaj has gone for a design that’s a mix of form and function.

This is evident from the bulbous shape of the CNG gas tank, the long seat, and the slender side and tail panels. There’s a braced handlebar and knuckle guard, which again shows that the bike will be built to tackle the rugged and challenging terrain that one is likely to encounter in Tier 2 cities and hinterland India.

The chassis is likely to be all-new and it has a telescopic fork attached to the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike has a front disc and rear drum brake setup.

Other details about the bike with regards to the engine displacement, fuel tank capacity, etc. will be known at the time of launch.

A CNG-powered bike would fit the needs of those who want to commute daily, particularly over long distances. With the kind of economy that CNG provides and the fact that it is cheaper to buy than petrol, this Bajaj CNG motorcycle is poised to revolutionise two-wheeler commutes.
