Bajaj Auto - Triumph

Following last week's global unveil in London, the new Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X were launched in India today at Bajaj Auto's Akurdi premises in Pune.

The special inaugural price of Speed 400 for the first 10,000 customers is INR 2.33 lakh Ex-showroom Delhi, and it will debut in the second half of July. The Scrambler 400x will be available in showrooms by October, and its price will be declared closer to its start of sales. These bikes will be available at an exclusive Triumph dealer network which will rapidly ramp up to over 100 dealerships across 80 cities within this fiscal year.

Designed by Triumph, both bikes will be made at Bajaj Auto’s new Chakan plant. A communication from the company noted that customers can book online and reserve their bikes by paying a refundable token advance of INR 2,000.

The Speed 400 roadster joins Triumph’s modern classic line-up, the Speed Twin 900 and 1200, while the Scrambler 400 X takes its rugged design cues from the Scrambler 900 and 1200, with an off-road pedigree that goes back to the first factory Scramblers of the 1950s.

Designed from the ground up with a brand-new single-engine platform at their heart, these new models deliver a fun, agile and confidence-inspiring ride for riders of all ages and experience levels.

Design DNA

Conceived and designed in Hinckley, UK, these new additions to the modern classics line-up have been developed with the same exacting attention to detail as Triumph’s most celebrated models. Traditional touches, like the distinctive finned cylinder head and traditional exhaust header clamps, combine with contemporary details like the upswept silencer, bold graphics and sensitively-incorporated technology, such as concealed liquid-cooling and a flowing exhaust run with a hidden primary silencer.

The Speed 400’s two-tone paint schemes, each featuring a prominent tank graphic, reflect its dynamic roadster style, with Carnival Red, Caspian Blue and Phantom Black colours.

The Scrambler 400 X is available in three colour schemes, each featuring the OEM's distinctive tank stripe and triangle badge, with Matt Khaki Green and Fusion White, Carnival Red and Phantom Black, plus Phantom Black and Silver Ice options.
