The upcoming Automechanika Frankfurt, the leading industry platform for the automotive aftermarket, will see an unprecedented number of companies presenting products and solutions in the field of electromobility. The event, taking place from 10 to 14 September 2024, will feature manufacturers from China, including BYD, SMART, the GEELY Group, AVATR, JIYUE, SERES, Chang An, HONGQI, and GAC International.
Olaf Mußhoff, Director of Automechanika Frankfurt, stated, “Automechanika Frankfurt is the innovation platform where products and solutions for sustainable and zero-emission mobility are presented. We developed new stage formats – Innovation4Mobility and Future Mobility Park – attracting manufacturers like Genesis and Skoda. This year, we are welcoming a remarkable number of manufacturers, including those from China, showcasing cutting-edge electric vehicle products and technologies.”
Electromobility extends beyond new drive systems, encompassing a market for software and electronic components for autonomous, connected, electric, and shared (ACES) vehicles. This sector has grown by 15% annually since 2020 and is expected to reach $ 469 billion by 2030. Over 150 exhibitors in this area will present their products and solutions in the Electrics & Electronics and Connectivity & Autonomous Driving categories. More than 400 companies at the event will showcase their electric vehicle expertise, with 14 competing for the Automechanika Innovation Awards in Electromobility & Innovative Drive Technologies.
Michael Johannes, Vice President of Mobility & Logistics, introduced the new ‘Electrical Vehicle Expo at Automechanika’ (EVA). He noted the significant growth in electromobility offerings, particularly from China, and highlighted Automechanika Shanghai's 20th anniversary as a testament to this trend.
Wang Xia, Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-council (CCPIT-Auto), emphasised the EVA Expo's goal to enhance the visibility of Chinese electric vehicle brands in Europe and promote a sustainable automotive ecosystem through international cooperation.
Automechanika Frankfurt 2024 will also focus on sustainability, recruitment, further training, and the latest in accident repair and claims management. Networking areas will cover the circular economy, remanufacturing, e-commerce, and the classic car business, complemented by a daily happy hour for exhibitors and visitors.
