German luxury car manufacturer Audi India, on Tuesday, commenced the booking of the new Q5, which will be locally produced at the SAVWIPL plant in Aurangabad. Customers can book the vehicle for INR2 lakh through the official website or an Audi dealership. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head, Audi India, said, “Today we open bookings for our strong addition to Audi’s successful Q family in India – the Audi Q5. This will be our 9th product launch for 2021 and we couldn’t be happier about our progress for the year.” The new vehicle features a single flame grille with vertical struds, reworked bumpers, and new 19-inch alloy wheels. Along with these, the SUV features Audi Park Assist, a Comfort key with sensor-controlled boot lid operation, Virtual cockpit plus with MMI Navigation plus, B&O Premium 3D Sound System, and wireless charging. Along with the tech features, the car has also been updated with some safety features, including eight airbags with rear side airbags and others. Available in two trim levels – Premium Plus and Technology, the SUV is powered by a 2.0L TFSI engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox producing 249 hp and 370Nm of torque. The power is distributed to all four wheels via the standard Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Due to the emergence of BS-VI norms, the manufacturer decided to discontinue the Q5 along with other products in their portfolio last year. However, later in October 2021, the automobile maker re-entered production for the Q5, which is slated to debut this year during Diwali.
