Audi India has announced the commencement of local production of the Q3 and the Q3 Sportback at the SAVWIPL plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
A press release from Audi India noted that the move reiterates VW Group’s commitment to Make in India and continues to enhance its product offering to meet the ever-evolving needs of the discerning Indian luxury customer.
While the entry-level SUV from the German carmaker, the Q3 was launched last year in August at a starting price of INR 44,89,000, the Q3 Sportback was launched in NR 51.43, ex-showroom, India, in February 2023.
Since then, both models have seen a price hike of 1.6%. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head, Audi India, noted that the price hike resulted from increased customs duty and input costs. “While we have tried to absorb the impact at various levels, the current situation necessitates an increase in price,” he added.
