Ather Energy has begun production of the Rizta electric scooter at its Hosur factory. The Rizta is the company’s new entrant in the family scooter space and was launched in the month of April.
The Ather Rizta bears a completely different design language compared to the Ather 450 range. Its styling is fresh, yet conservative and skewed towards the functional side rather than form. The Rizta not only looks big but also gets notably more storage space than the existing Ather 450 lineup. For reference, the Rizta gets a massive 34-litre underseat storage space with the option to add a 22-litre frunk.
Coming to the battery, they are available in two sizes. The Rizta S, which is the base variant, has a 2.9kWh battery that offers a true range of 105km. The Rizta Z is available with two battery options, the 2.9kW battery as on the 'S' and a bigger, 3.7kWh battery that has a true range of 125km.
The Rizta has a lot of features as well with the ‘Z’ variants being equipped with a 7-inch colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.
The Ather Rizta S is priced at Rs 1.10 lakh while the Rizta Z 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh models cost Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 1.45 lakh. (all prices, ex-showroom, Bengaluru), respectively. It goes up against the TVS iQube and the Ola S1 range.
