Ather Energy has announced its latest venture, the 'Ather Rizta' – a family-oriented electric scooter. Departing from their sporty design approach evident in the 450 Series, the Rizta is tailored to meet the specific requirements of families, combining comfort, safety, and affordability.
Ather Energy's CEO, Tarun Mehta, teased the new model through a video posted on Twitter, where he shared insights into the Rizta's development. In his November tweet, Mehta had hinted at a larger, family-friendly scooter that focuses on comfort, safety, and spaciousness. The unveiling of the Rizta is scheduled for the Ather Community Day Celebration 2024, with deliveries expected to commence in the next six months.
Mehta expressed enthusiasm about the Rizta, stating, 'With Rizta, we will be taking a big leap in comfort and safety. Our teams have been working on this for a while, and have pulled off some interesting integrations that are industry-first and will make your ride experience way better.' He reassured customers that the Ather Rizta would maintain the same quality and reliability that characterises Ather's existing products.
Swapnil Jain, Co-founder & CTO of Ather Energy, shared insights into the company's journey and the rationale behind the Rizta. He noted that, with the Ather 450X, the team prioritized vehicle dynamics and handling for a younger audience. Now, with the Rizta, the focus shifts to creating a family vehicle that prioritises comfort and safety. Jain emphasised the team's commitment to building a scooter that caters to the changing needs of the Ather community, evolving from their initial emphasis on vehicle dynamics.
