Aston Martin has introduced the new Vantage Roadster, a convertible version of its Vantage Coupe, blending performance with open-air motoring. Powered by a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine producing 656 bhp and 800 Nm of torque, the Roadster maintains the Coupe’s class-leading performance while offering an enhanced sensory experience. Deliveries are set to begin in the second quarter of 2025.

Performance figures are made possible by its ultra-lightweight design, which adds only 60 kg to the Coupe’s weight. The car's structure and suspension have been meticulously re-engineered to retain the dynamic precision and handling prowess Aston Martin is known for.

The Roadster features a Z-fold roof mechanism, which can open or close in a record-setting 6.8 seconds at speeds of up to 50 kmph. This innovative design eliminates the need for a tonneau cover, saving weight and lowering the car’s centre of gravity. Despite its lightweight construction, the roof offers eight layers of insulation, ensuring cabin refinement comparable to the Coupe.

The Vantage Roadster’s suspension system incorporates unequal-length double wishbones at the front and a multi-link rear axle, complemented by Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers. These components, along with bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tyres and a recalibrated electronic architecture, deliver exceptional grip, stability, and responsiveness. The car also includes an advanced traction control system with eight selectable settings to suit various driving conditions.

Stopping power is provided by carbon ceramic brakes, with 410 mm front discs clamped by six-piston monoblock callipers. This ensures reliable deceleration under extreme conditions, enhancing safety and performance. The electronically controlled rear differential (E-diff) and non-isolated steering column further refine the driving experience, offering precise handling and feedback.

The Roadster retains the Coupe’s striking design featuring a widened stance, a signature grille for increased airflow, and a choice of new paint finishes. Customisation options include four roof colours, 21 complementary liveries, and seven brake calliper hues, allowing owners to personalise their vehicles extensively.

Inside it has Aston Martin’s next-generation infotainment system, developed in-house and first seen on the DB12. The system combines a 10.25-inch touchscreen with physical switches for intuitive operation. Connectivity is enhanced by a dedicated app supporting iOS and Android devices, providing remote interaction with the car. For audiophiles, the standard 11-speaker audio system can be upgraded to a bespoke Bowers & Wilkins setup.
